The players noticed two men going through their backpacks at Lowell Park, around 3:30 p.m.
Our media partner, The Oakland Tribune, reports the players confronted the thieves. One robber then pulled out a gun. He never fired the gun and nobody was hurt.
The thieves took shoes, wallets, cellphones and other valuables.
