The three-car collision was reported at about 6:15 p.m. on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just south of the Lawrence Expressway, the CHP said.
The motorcyclist was involved in a crash with a white pickup truck and then after being knocked off the bike was run over by a UPS big-rig, the CHP said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes of the highway were blocked due to the collision, causing a major traffic backup.
