The victim's condition is unknown, but it is pretty safe to say she is in pretty bad shape. That's because police say she was walking in a crosswalk around 6:30 p.m. when a car struck her in the southbound lanes.
The car hit her so hard she went airborne all the way down Hesperian Boulevard and landed close to a light post that is more than 50 yards away.
Police only described her as a woman who appears to be in her 30's. Neighbors say they found her unconscious and she was by herself.
Police say there were no witnesses to the actual crime and there is no surveillance video that captured the incident. So at this time they don't even have a description on the vehicle that struck her.
Police say the weather was not a factor in incident because at the time it was not raining and it wasn't dark yet.
We hope to learn more about this hit and run crime when police put out an official statement on Thursday morning.
