Fremont teen receives environmental award from White House

FREMONT, Calif.

Pavan has been championing green causes most of his life. He set up greenkidsnow.org when he was eight. The website teaches kids how to fight climate change. He also writes books, gives speeches and even works with schools to set up conservation programs.

"And we also have a conference, the Green Kids Conference, where kids can come and showcase their environmental efforts, and their science projects and innovations," Pavan said.

After getting his award, Pavan gave a presentation about his ideas to the EPA regional administrator and Congressman Eric Swalwell.

Pavan does say he wishes he had been invited to the White House to give the presentation to the president himself.
