Overturned big rig cleared from I-880 in Hayward
All lanes of I-880 in Hayward have reopened after an overturned big rig carrying wine coolers was cleared from lanes.

HAYWARD, Calif. -- California Highway Patrol officials said all lanes of Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward are open this morning after an overturned big-rig carrying wine was cleared from the southbound travel lanes.



The three southbound lanes closed near A Street reopened at 10:05 a.m.



The truck has been uprighted and taken to the A Street on-ramp to southbound I-880 where the wine will be offloaded, according to CHP officials. The on-ramp is closed.



The truck overturned at 3 a.m.



Northbound lanes also were closed and reopened at 7:59 a.m., CHP officials said.



A large sign was knocked down and a crane was needed to move it, CHP officials said.
