Big-rig catches fire near San Mateo bridge

SAN MATEO (KGO) -- To add to the traffic misery this morning, a big-rig caught fire on Highway 92 in San Mateo just east of 101.

The call came in at 10:00 a.m.

The cab and the front of the truck was completely engulfed in flames. At least five units responded to the blaze.

Traffic came to a stand still. It was backed up to Highway 101 as fire fighters put out the fire and cleared fuel from the roadway.

CHP tells us one lane of traffic is open now.

The truck has spilled some fuel. No word yet on the cause of the fire.
