SAN FRANCISCO -- Fire Department crews pulled a body out of the water at Lake Merced in San Francisco's Lake Shore neighborhood Saturday afternoon, a dispatcher said.

Fire crews responded to TPC Harding Park on a report of a body found in the water at 2:48 p.m., the dispatcher said.

He said he did not know the gender or age of the person found.

Police deferred questions about the incident to the Fire Department and medical examiner's office.

A spokesperson for the medical examiner's office said the person has not yet been identified.
