Fires in Byron, Mountain House 80 percent contained, 500 acres burned

BYRON, Calif. (KGO) -- Crews worked overnight to contain seven fires burning in Byron and Mountain House. The fires are now 80 percent contained and have burned 500 acres.

One of the main issues they're dealing with is strong winds. Several structures have been destroyed.

The fires started just after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire officials re-opened Byron Highway at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
