Eastside chunk of Candlestick demolished

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Crews are bringing on the wrecking ball again at "the Stick."

Sky7 HD was overhead Thursday when a large chunk of the stadium's east side is now gone.

Crews are tearing down the 55-year-old former home of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants one section at a time.

The goal is the complete demolition by the end of this month.

Housing, a shopping center and a hotel will go up in its place.
