CHP car hits, kills pedestrian in Half Moon Bay
A California Highway Patrol car struck and killed a pedestrian in Half Moon Bay Saturday evening, according to CHP officials.

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KGO) -- A California Highway Patrol car struck and killed a pedestrian in Half Moon Bay Saturday evening, according to CHP officials.

The crash was first reported around 8:24 p.m. on Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay between Capistrano Road and Coronado Street.

The CHP said the victim was a 74-year-old man from Burlingame. Workers at Sam's Chowder House said the man had been attending a wedding reception at the restaurant.

Traffic in the area was closed while the crash was being investigated.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area. No further details were immediately available.
