FEMA announces Napa quake victims eligible for assistance

FEMA assistance has not arrived for Napa homeowners nearly two months after the earthquake hit.
FEMA has announced that Napa home owners are now eligible for federal assistance.

NAPA, Calif. (KGO) -- FEMA and the State Office of Emergency Services announced Monday homeowners whose properties were damaged in the Napa earthquake will be eligible for federal assistance.

About 1,000 private property owners in Napa have been waiting for FEMA to determine whether they were eligible for the funds.

The decision also applies to renters whose properties were damaged in the Aug. 24 quake.

Those interested in learning about their eligibility for the Individual and Households Program should call or register at 800-621-FEMA (3362), TTY 800-462-7585 or visit DisasterAssistance.gov.
