FONTANA, Calif. -- A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck one mile east of Fontana Saturday morning. Fontana is a city of 203,003 residents in San Bernardino County, California.
The quake hit the area around 5:54 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Residents in Mira Loma, Santa Ana, Riverside, Norwalk, Ontario, Upland, Chino Hills, Pomona, Anaheim, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga and Fullerton reported feeling the earthquake.
A preliminary magnitude of 4.3 was given for the quake, but USGS downgraded it to a 4.2 magnitude. Two small aftershocks, magnitudes 1.6 and 1.2, also shook the area shortly before 7 a.m.
No damages and injuries have been reported.
