PITTSBURG, Calif. (KGO) -- Bizarre food was on the menu on Friday at Heights Elementary School in Pittsburg.
ABC7 News was there as a group of third-graders looked over the unique offerings before conducting a taste test.
There were kumquats and a jack fruit.
The kids say some of the bizarre food they tried was pretty sour. They learned much of it is grown far from their homes.
The idea is to give the kids a chance to try something new and to learn about where and how their food is grown.
And best of all, or maybe not, how it tastes!
