A packaging designer from Vancouver may have solved the age-old dilemma faced by many a nervous engagement proposer: How do you walk next to your beloved with a giant ring box and not spoil the surprise?

The solution, developed by Andrew Zo, is a leather-bound engagement ring case that folds flat like a wallet, but is thin enough - about the depth of a credit card - to fit inside a wallet.

The case, named the Clifton, retails for around $100 but has become so popular that Zo has had to put a hold on new orders until October, according to his website.

Each Clifton ring case is said to be handcrafted by Zo, who could not be reached by ABC News.

Zo first came up with the concept for the sleek case in 2011 under the name, "Packed Engagement Ring." The case became known as "Clifton" just this year, according to Packaging of the World, a packaging design blog.

"At approximately 1cm thick, Clifton presents the ring with a delightful flower blooming effect when opened, enchanting the moment," reads the description on Packaging of the World's website.
