SAN FRANCISCO


California Academy of Sciences


SuperNatural Halloween 2015 - Come in costume to enjoy trick-or-treating, dancing, face painting, magic shows, scientists and specimens, live animal shows, giant pumpkin carving, crafts, photo booths and more. Friday, October 23 starting at 6:30 p.m.




Davies Symphony Hall


The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Celebrate Halloween by joining the SF Symphony for a spooky orchestral pre-show and a hosted screening of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show. You'll hear music from Halloween favorite films such as Beetlejuice, The Witches of Eastwick, Poltergeist, Basic Instinct, Psycho, and more! Saturday, October 31 starting at 7:30 p.m. Note: The SF Symphony does not play live with this film.

Japantown


5th Annual Spooktacular Halloween Party & Trick-or-Treat - Afternoon filled with trick or treat fun in the Japan Center Malls, pumpkin decorating, face painting, arts and crafts, bounce house fun, and a live performance from the family-friendly Alphabet Rockers. Sunday, October 25 from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.



Mezzanine


5th Annual EYE HEART HALLOWEEN - Costumes and music from resident DJ in Las Vegas, DJ Vice. Friday, October 30 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.



Pier 70, Building 12


Ghost Ship VIII, Annihilation - Enjoy original large scale art installations, multiple stages hosted by top DJ crews (including DJs Q-bert and Krafty Kuts), and original costumes. Friday, Saturday October 30-31 starting at 9 p.m. Adults only.



San Francisco Day of the Dead


Festival of Altars - Honor the life of a loved one that has passed away at Garfield Park (25th/26th & Harrison Streets). Monday, November 2 from 4 p.m. - 11 p.m.



San Francisco Zoo


Boo at the Zoo 2015 - Activities include candy treat stations, Halloween crafts, bounce houses, animals enjoying holiday-themed treats, Haunted Nature Trail, insect zoo, and live music from Baby Loves Disco. Saturday, October 24 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.



W Hotel


Halloween International Ball Volume 2 - Costume contest, 4 separate dance rooms, music, samba dancers, drummers and more. Saturday October 31 from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. at the Westin St. Francis in Union Square (adults only).




Yerba Buena Gardens


Halloween Hoopla - Costumes, live music, clowns, palm reader, arts and crafts with the Children's Creativity Museum, interactive games, photobooth and more. Saturday, October 31 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.



ALAMEDA COUNTY


Fear Overload Scream Park


Haunted houses and live horror entertainment voted one of the top Halloween events in the nation (Haunted Attraction Magazine). Open October 2 - November 1 and the Bayfair Center in San Leandro.



Frightmare Home Haunt in Livermore


Free home haunt and canned food drive for Open Heart Kitchen (while haunt is open). 697 Sonoma Ave, Livermore CA 94550. Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. For younger kids not brave enough for the haunt at night, there is a special lights tour on Saturday, October 31 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.



G & M Farms in Livermore


Family fun at the Cornfield Maze and Pumpkin Patch at G&M Farms - enjoy cow train, pumpkins of all sizes, fresh produce, decorative gourds, Indian corn, farm animals, pony rides, pedal carts and the new Barnyard Blasters attraction. Voted "Best Seasonal Attraction" in the East Bay by Diablo Magazine. Farm open daily.




Oakland Zoo


Boo at the Zoo - Annual Halloween event with costumes, yummy treats, spooky boo train, face painting, animal treats and dance party. Saturday, October 24 and Sunday October 25 from 10:00 a.m. - 3 p.m.



Alameda County Fairgrounds


Pirates of Emerson - five thrilling haunted attractions open throughout October.



USS Hornet


Monster's Ball - Costumes, food, haunted attractions, live music and free parking. Saturday, October 31 from 7:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.



CONTRA COSTA COUNTY


The Streets of Brentwood


Halloween Trunk-or-Treat 2015 - Join Contra Costa Humane Society for a howling fun-filled time at The Streets of Brentwood, the weekend before Halloween. Sunday October 25 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Fourth Street, San Rafael


31st Annual Downtown San Rafael Trick or Treat - Costumed children enjoy treats from downtown merchants. Come to the City Plaza on Fourth Street for a trick or treat bag on Saturday, October 24 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.




Nicasio Valley Farms


Every weekend you can enjoy hay rides, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, rock climbing, BBQ, music and more at the 2015 Pumpkin patch on Nicasio Valley Road.



Sausalito


Halloween Sausalito - Free candy, kid-friendly haunted house, firefighters BBQ, spooky parade, trick-or-treating, costumes and more! Saturday, October 31 starting at 4:15 p.m.



NAPA COUNTY


Stanly Lane Pumpkin Patch


You can find pumpkins, slides, maze, corn field, pyramid, pigs and more family fun.



SAN MATEO COUNTY


Farmer John's Pumpkin Farm


Fun, family family atmosphere with a diverse variety of pumpkins on a working farm. Open mid September through Halloween in Half Moon Bay.

Fremont Park


Halloween Hoopla - Parade, trick-or-treating, costumes, performers, art and craft activities, candy and pumpkin weight guess. Saturday, October 31 from 11:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Menlo Park.

Pumpkin patch, ghost train, haunted houses, ghost train, scare zone and more Halloween fun in Half Moon Bay.



Red Morton Community Center


Halloween Spooktakular - Carnival games, Halloween attire in a costume parade, crafts, treats and more activities in Redwood City. Saturday, October 24 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.



SANTA CLARA COUNTY


California Ave. in Palo Alto


21st Annual California Ave Trick or Treat and Blossom Halloween Carnival - Kid-friendly event with costume parade led by the Stanford Band, trick-or-treating at businesses on California Ave (between El Camino Real and Park Blvd), carnival games, halloween photos, crafts, dance performances, story time, tot play area, music and more. Sunday, October 25 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Palo Alto.




California's Great America


Halloween Haunt - Rides, "in-your-face" mazes, scare zones, live shows, and more experiences running weekends through Halloween.



Dead Time Dreams


Haunted, immersive attractions at the corner of Tully and East Capitol Expressway Roads, near Eastridge Mall in San Jose.



Winchester Mystery House


Flashlight Tours of the Winchester Mansion are given every Friday the 13th and on select evenings in October. You'll tour the mysterious mansion at night with only the moonlight and a souvenir flashlight. With admission, also enjoy extra entertainment on the estate from magicians, to balloon artists, to caricature illustrators! Entertainment varies per evening.



SANTA CRUZ COUNTY


Roaring Camp Railroads


Thomas and Percy's Halloween Party - Enjoy a 20-minute train ride, entertainment, face painting, story telling, train play tables and more fun filled activities for the entire family. October 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and November 1.



SOLANO COUNTY


Andrews Park


Howl-O-Ween: Who Let The Dogs Out? - Pooch parade, music, treats, pet vendors, dog demonstrations and more pet-friendly fun. Saturday, October 31 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Vacaville.



Vacaville Premium Outlets


Halloween Spooktacular celebration - Costumes, face painting, balloon artists, games, magic shows, treats & more. Saturday, October 31 from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.




Six Flags Discovery Kingdom


Fright Fest - Frights, rides, haunts and more entertainment in Vallejo. Family-friendly by day, but filled with terror at dusk. Fright fest at night is not recommended for children under 13 or anyone who scares easily.



SONOMA COUNTY


Historic Downtown Petaluma


Halloween Trick or Treat Trail - Join Petaluma merchants for a fun and safe Halloween for the entire family and goodies for costumed kids under 12. Saturday, October 31 from 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.



Safari West Wildlife Preserve


Trick or Treating...Trekking with the Dead - See giraffes, cheetah, lemurs and much more while exploring a special trick or treating trail. Also, enjoy face painting, dinner and a presentation on bats Saturday, October 31 in Santa Rosa.



Sonoma Mountain Village


Blind Scream Haunted Houses - Haunted houses that will make you scream in Rohnert Park. Open October 9 thru Halloween from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
