A cat managed to flood an animal shelter in Florida

POMPANO BEACH, FL -- A Florida animal shelter is facing thousands of dollars in flood damage and it's all because of a playful cat.

The shelter's president says when she arrived at the building water was flowing out of the back door, and it was coming from a faucet in the cat's room, local station WPLG reports.

Carol Ebert, president of the Florida Humane Society, said, "They evidently started playing here and flipped a switch. ... The counter tops are ruined, the walls are ruined. We had lots of damage with food and storage we had in the hallway."

The flooding caused at least $5,000 in damages, and the shelter has since installed new faucets.

None of the cats were injured during the incident.
