NEPTUNE BEACH, Florida (KGO) -- A major decision in Florida came down to a game of chance.
The recount for a seat on the Neptune Beach city council ended in a tie, so officials got creative to decide the winner.
Incumbent Richard Arthur and challenger Rory Diamond each received 1,448 votes.
First a name was drawn, next a coin toss and then it was up to a ping pong ball.
The two men each pulled a numbered ball from a bag and the person with the highest number won.
The winner ended up being the incumbent.
It's the first time an election in Neptune Beach has been decided this way.
