Glide Memorial Church pays special tribute to Robin Williams

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- There was a special tribute honoring Robin Williams at Glide Memorial Church on Sunday.

Williams helped Glide with many fundraisers over the last 20 years that helped people deal with homelessness and recovery.

"He was very, very shy but when he came to a Glide event and he met our group of recovering people. He flew to them and they lit it up together. They made electricity," said Glide Co-Founder Janice Mirikitani.

Williams died last week from an apparent suicide in his Tiburon home.
