Grandma meets teen she accidentally texted Thanksgiving invite to

MESA, Arizona (KGO) -- The Arizona grandmother who invited a stranger to Thanksgiving dinner by mistake kept her promise to have him over.

Jamal Hinton, 17, showed up to dinner Thursday night after Wanda Dench texted him about the holiday meal. She had the wrong number, but she said she would save a plate for him.

At first he said he wouldn't be able to make it but ended up at her home for dinner.

"This has really touched my heart from all the people out there that have said the kindest things to me. I never expected this in a million years to happen to me," Dench said.

"I love being here, feel like we can connect more and bond," Hinton said.

Both of them say they are thankful for the accidental text that brought them together for the holiday.
