SF, Oakland follow Boston as healthiest in America

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A new study ranks the healthiest places in America and the Bay Area ranks right up near the top.

San Francisco and Oakland came in at number two on NerdWallet's list.

83 percent of the city's residents report participating in physical activity at least once a month. San Jose finished seventh on the list.

The results pointed to more than 300 days of sunshine as a key factor for motivating residents to stay active.

Boston topped the list for the second year in a row.
