Man hit with own car in SoCal road rage incident; 2 suspects sought

HEMET, Calif. -- Hemet police released video Monday of a man being hit with his own car in hopes of catching the two suspects involved in a road rage incident. The victim was injured, but survived and is listed in stable condition.

Officers responded to a report of a verbal disturbance in the 1400 block of S. Gilbert Street on Friday at approximately 6:56 a.m.

Upon their arrival, they discovered a 53-year-old man "lying in the street, unable to move, suffering from injuries consistent with being hit by a car," police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

During the later investigation, detectives learned the incident was a result of an ongoing road rage incident in which one of the two suspects stole the victim's car.

In video obtained by the Hemet Police Department, one suspect is seen arguing with the victim, and a second suspect is seen intentionally hitting the victim with his own car.

The two suspects abandoned the victim's car and fled the scene in a white 2006-2011 standard cab Ford pickup truck. Investigators believe the truck may have a broken rear cab window, in addition to a broken driver's side window.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic or white man, between 18 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with a thin build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and a black baseball-style hat.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic or white man, between 18 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with a thin build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a white short-sleeve shirt and a black and white baseball-style hat backwards.
