Authorities investigate fatal crash on Hwy 29 in American Canyon

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif. -- At least one person died Saturday night on a State Highway 29 in American Canyon, according to California Highway Patrol officials.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes of the highway at Eucalyptus Drive at around 11:40 p.m., as they investigated the fatality, which happened near Donaldson Way.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is also investigating the incident, CHP officials said.

Lanes reopened later Sunday morning.
