SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Alexander Wang, who grew up in San Francisco, is the latest high-end designer to launch his collection at H&M.
After months of build up, shoppers Thursday couldn't wait to get their hands on his designs at a more affordable price.
Sky7 HD was overhead as the line grew outside the San Francisco store on Powell Street near O'Farrell Thursday. The line started forming Wednesday night.
Wang's collection costs about $13 for accessories and goes up to about $400 for jackets.
Shoppers snapped up the merchandise.
"You know you get a very limited edition for fashion lovers," shopper Erica Englund said. "It's a high-end designer and he's designing for low-end prices."
Naomi Castro spent $60 on a crew-neck sweatshirt with Wang's last name on it.
"I was here at 8 p.m. last night and I slept in a lawn chair," Castro said. "It was well worth it."
In the end, Casto spent more than $600.
Wang's line created such a buzz, it crashed H&M's website. Some items are already listed on eBay for double the price.
