America's costliest hurricanes caused tens of billions of dollars in damage

The United States has witnessed many catastrophic and costly hurricanes, with several in recent memory causing tens of billions of dollars in damage.

We are still waiting for damage assessment to be completed from Hurricane Harvey, but it appears this will become the costliest hurricane in U.S. history, surpassing Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
