Kmart apologizes to customers after layaway orders cancelled

A week before Christmas, many Kmart customers are finding out the gifts they put on layaway will not arrive after all.

Kmart is apologizing to customers who got emails saying their layaway orders were cancelled.

It happened when the retailer ran out of stock for some merchandise.

Kmart would not say how many orders were cancelled but it affected many online customers.

It is issuing full refunds. However, the retailer also is trying to find another source for those out-of-stock items.
