Margrit Mondavi, icon of Napa Valley wine culture, dies at 91

NAPA, Calif. (KGO) -- Napa Valley icon Margrit Mondavi passed away on Friday. The well-known philanthropist, winemaker and artist was 91.



Mondavi joined the staff at the Robert Mondavi winery in 1967 as public relations director until she married Mr. Mondavi.



The Mondavi's helped put Napa on the map. Margrit had been battling stomach cancer for the past two years.
