Report: Facebook employee quits, says Bay Area too expensive
A former Facebook employee making a six-figure salary says he quit his dream job because the Bay Area is just too expensive.

MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- A former Facebook employee making a six-figure salary says he quit his dream job because the Bay Area is just too expensive.

The Business Journal says Matt Kulka quit Facebook and moved to Arizona because he and his four member family could no longer afford to live here.

Kulka wrote about it in a blog titled, "I made 6 figures at my Facebook dream job - but couldn't afford life in the Bay Area," saying tech giants should consider moving out of expensive cities to retain workers.

He wrote, "Facebook pays well in absolute terms, but if you're a single-income family you have to live pretty frugally, as those rent checks eat into your monthly disposable income."
