Conservative Ann Coulter scheduled to speak at UC Berkeley
BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Just a month after a violent protest at UC Berkeley cancelled a planned speech by former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, campus Republicans are inviting another speaker with controversial right-wing views.
As an author and columnist Coulter doesn't shy away from unpopular views and people either love her or hate her. "She is a fascist," one man said.

"She's a bit of a provocateur, but she is not as provocative as Milo," Berkeley campus Republican Jonathan Chow said.
Yiannopoulos has called feminism a cancer and said that being Muslim is a lifestyle choice.
His scheduled speech last month at UC Berkeley was cancelled when some protesters became violent, causing $100,000 damage.

Now, the same Berkeley college Republicans who invited Yiannopoulos are inviting Coulter to speak about illegal immigration. "Having someone qualified to discuss it an also having a lengthy Q and A with students I think is the best thing for Berkeley at this point," Chow said.
But, this time they're working with a non-partisan political campus group called Bridgecal who is also inviting someone from the left to speak to the issue. "I don't believe it's going to be like Milo Yiannopoulos 2. The thing about this event is it's not just a speech," Bridgecal spokesperson Pranav Jandhyala said.
Whose rhetoric is more incendiary, Yiannopoulos or Coulter, is a matter of personal choice. What we know for sure is that UC Berkeley has no plans to interfere with her appearance on campus.
The university released a statement saying: They don't block speeches "based on a generalized concern that a speaker's message may trigger disruptions."
Yiannopoulos responded about campus Republicans by taking to Twitter saying: "Good on them. That makes two fabulous conservative queens. I'll be sure to lend Ann my Navy Seals for the night and return to Berkeley myself soon.
Coulter's speech is set for April 27.
