FlightCar takes off at San Jose Airport

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A car sharing service aimed at air travelers has just taken off at Mineta-San Jose International Airport.

FlightCar now serves all three Bay Area airports.

FlightCar allows you to park for free at the airport while earning cash, by renting your car to other travelers, when you're away from home.

Car owners get paid when their car is rented based on the miles driven.

FlightCar claims that its rates are typically 40 to 50 percent less than car rental companies.
