Mountain lion spotted near youth center in San Mateo

SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) -- Officials are warning people to be on alert after a mountain lion was spotted near the San Mateo County Youth Services Center in the Highland area Sunday night.

Residents are advised to protect pets.

Officials said if you see a mountain lion not to run and instead face the animal, make noise and try to look bigger.
