2 Muslim women pushing babies in strollers attacked in Brooklyn, woman arrested

BATH BEACH, Brooklyn -- A woman is facing hate crime charges for allegedly attacking two Muslim women who were pushing their babies in strollers in Brooklyn.

It happened Thursday afternoon on a corner in Bath Beach.

Police say 32-year-old Emirjeta Xhelili yelled anti-Muslim slurs as she punched and kicked the two women and tried to rip off their hijabs, or head scarfs.

Bail for Xhelili has been set at $50,000.

The victims were not badly hurt.
