Victim hospitalized after robbery, shooting near Oakland BART station

OAKLAND, Calif. -- One person was hospitalized with a gunshot wound following a robbery Saturday night near the Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland.

Around 9:40 p.m. police responded to a report of a shooting and a robbery in the 1200 block of 35th Avenue, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital and with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The armed suspect fled on foot and has not been apprehended as of this morning, according to police.

A suspect description was unavailable.
