Dublin Camp Parks on lockdown lifted, reports of intruder unfounded

DUBLIN, Calif. -- Reports of an intruder at a U.S. Army facility in Dublin Tuesday morning were unfounded, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

The reports of the intruder at the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, also known as Camp Parks, prompted a response from multiple law enforcement agencies, the lockdown of the facility and an hours-long search of the area with the use of a drone.

Sheriff's officials said at about 3:30 p.m. that the search had concluded and the reports of an intruder were unfounded.

Dublin schools in the area with summer school and day care programs were told to shelter in place after receiving reports of the situation at about 11 a.m., Dublin Unified School District officials said.

The shelter-in-place order was also lifted at about 3:30 p.m.

The sheriff's office, which runs nearby Santa Rita Jail, also said that reports of an escape at the jail are false and that the jail had nothing to do with the situation at Camp Parks.
