MARIN, Calif. (KGO) -- If you live in Marin, your commute may be a little smoother as carpool lane hours on Highway 101 may be extended to reduce congestion.
Our media partner, the Marin Independent Journal, reports the California Transportation Commission wants to start a pilot program with longer hours, starting in June.
The morning commute time would be extended from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and in the afternoon, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Caltrans is expected to consider a plan in the coming weeks.
