CHICAGO -- A baby girl who weighed less than a pound when she was born is now at home with her parents in Brazil.
Victoria was born early, at 24 weeks. She weighed 380 grams and was only 28 centimeters (11 inches) long. The survival rate for an infant born that early is 15-40 percent, CNN said.
She spent four months in a hospital in Porto Alegre, Brazil, because her organs were barely able to function. Doctors said she is now close to 5 pounds (2.1 kilograms).
Victoria still needs some medical care, but she was able to go home with her parents on Wednesday.
