Harry Connick Jr.'s daughter Georgia was arrested at her family's Connecticut home last weekend, police said.
The 19-year-old was issued a summons arrest for permitting minors to possess alcohol, a misdemeanor, and procuring liquor for minors, an infraction, police said.
Because it was a summons arrest, Connick was not taken into custody and did not have a mug shot taken, police said. She was released on her promise to appear in a Norwalk, Connecticut, court on Sept. 2.
According to Lt. Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan police, authorities received a call at 1 a.m. on Saturday in which an anonymous person complained about a party with under-aged drinkers. When police arrived on the scene, Connick told them that what began as a smaller party soon became more than she could handle, Ferraro said.
Connick's parents were not home at the time, Ferraro said. Her father, 47, released a statement about the incident.
"This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family," the singer said. "We have no further comments. Thank you for understanding."
