I-580 reopens following shooting investigation, major delays continue

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland CHP reported that Eastbound Interstate 580 was briefly closed due to a shooting investigation, but is now slowly reopening. They say delays are expected and there is no time frame for reopening.

Police say they responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Fruitvale Avenue and the 580 freeway off-ramp. First responders were at the scene to provide medical attention to two victims.

Police say a male driver and female passenger were shot and transported to a local hospital, and are listed in stable condition.
