Crews are gaining the upper hand on a 5-acre wildfire burning on the Santa Cruz mountains Friday afternoon.
The fire was reported at about 4 p.m. near Croy Ridge and Summit roads in the Mount Madonna area, Cal Fire Santa Cruz area Division Chief Rich
Sampson said.
It is being handled by the Santa Clara County division of Cal Fire with assistance from the Santa Cruz division.
Officials told ABC7 News crews stopped the fire's forward progress and appear to have it pretty well contained right now.
