NFL may make musical acts pay to perform at Super Bowl

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- There's word the NFL may ask musical acts to pay for the privilege of performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Last year, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were on stage for 12 minutes. Experts say with the worldwide audience, that's the equivalent to $100 million worth of publicity.

Now the NFL apparently wants to cash in on some of that.

The NFL supposedly narrowed the list of next year's potential halftime performers to three: Coldplay, Katy Perry and Rihanna.
