SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- The world's youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner is coming to Silicon Valley.
Malala Yousafzai, 17, will speak at the San Jose State University Event Center on June 26.
In October 2012, the Taliban tried killing Yousafzai for her outspoken advocacy for girls' education in her native Pakistan.
She survived the attack and has become a prominent backer for human rights.
Malala will speak with best-selling novelist Khaled Hosseini, author of "The Kite Runner," at 7 p.m. Her appearance is part of the Unique Lives & Experiences speaker series.
Ticket sales for the general public begin Saturday through Ticketmaster.
