OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The owner of the Oakland A's, Lew Wolff, is apparently not willing to play ball with the city of Oakland over a new coliseum lease.

The team says it reached a 10-year deal with the coliseum Joint Powers Authority, or JPA, but the city of Oakland is expected to vote down that deal on Thursday.

Wolff tells SF Gate the team is standing by the deal and won't give city officials additional concessions.

He says, "We have a 14-month negotiation finished and approved by Major League Baseball and the JPA. If someone wants to do something else, we have no interest in that."

City leaders won't give specifics, but say there are some financial issues of the deal that they want to negotiate.

"I certainly hope that the A's fans certainly will understand that we have a responsibility as elected officials to make sure this business deal is one that's in the best interest of theirs," Oakland City Councilmember Larry Reid said.

City council members hope to get the A's back to the bargaining table.

The team has not responded to our request for comment.
