NEW YORK -- A smoky underground fire disrupted Tuesday morning commute at New York City's Penn Station.
The three alarm fire under Penn Station in Midtown was put out and is being considered suspicious. The blaze started in construction sheds two floors beneath Eighth Avenue and West 33rd Street.

The fire broke out in a construction site just before 5 a.m. Police had to shut down the nearby intersection.
New York City subway service was affected, along with trains on the Long Island railroad.
Service has been restored.
50 firefighters responded to the fire, which injured two of them.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
