'Pepper' the robot welcomes customers at Palo Alto store

PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- At a high-tech store in Palo Alto don't be surprised over the next few days if the salesperson who greets you isn't a person at all.

Pepper the robot's first day at b8ta was Thursday. The humanoid robot was first scooped up by Japan's SoftBank. Pepper has worked in mobile phone stores and Nissan showrooms. And now Pepper's learning American etiquette. Watch the video above for Jonathan Bloom's full report.
