A group called People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is suing the Whole Foods grocery store chain Tuesday morning, claiming the company is deceiving its customers.
The lawsuit claims the Natural Foods Grocery's 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating System is misleading.
PETA says the rating system is flawed because the standards are no different than the rest of the industry and are not enforced by anyone.
Whole Foods says it is aware of the lawsuit but the company has not yet been served.
