Police say no bombs found at Pleasanton high school after threat

PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Police have found no indication that a bomb threat emailed to a Pleasanton high school Tuesday morning is related to a previous threat received at the same school in September.

A counselor at Amador Valley High School at 1155 Santa Rita Road received the threat at about 8 a.m. and students and staff were all evacuated to the football field while Pleasanton police investigated, police and school district officials said.

Police searched the campus and found no bombs. Classes resumed Tuesday morning, according to the school district.

Investigators have so far found no connection between Tuesday's threat and another received at the same school on Sept. 18 that canceled classes for the day, police said.

School principal Tom Drescher received that threat by email at about 7 a.m. that day. The school was evacuated while the Alameda County sheriff's bomb squad searched the campus with a dog.

The school was cleared by about 11 a.m. but officials decided to cancel classes for the day.
