Queen Elizabeth II reached an important milestone on Monday, her Sapphire Jubilee, marking 65 years of her rule.
In honor of the occasion, the royal family re-issued a 2014 photo of the queen. In the photo, she is wearing sapphire jewelry given to her as a wedding gift by King George VI, her father, according to the Associated Press.
Queen Elizabeth surpassed Queen Victoria to become the longest-reigning British monarch in history last year, which means she is first ruler to have a Sapphire Jubilee.
