Richmond Police Lt. Felix Tan says 43-year-old McBride was arrested Wednesday in Sacramento with the help of U.S. Marshals.
Police say McBride shot his ex-girlfriend Rashanda Franklin once in the chest in front of her children Tuesday as she drove them to school in Richmond. She was found wounded behind the steering wheel and died at the scene. Her children, both boys, were not physically hurt.
