OK, I downloaded the app -- now what?

Once the show starts, you can log into the app with your Facebook account or an email log-in.
When the performers walk out on stage, they'll be separated from the studio audience and the judges by a huge see-through LED screen. As each performer begins to sing, the judges and viewers at home will vote on the performances using the Rising Star app. Photos of the voters logged in through Facebook will appear live on the screen in front of the performs as the votes are tallied.
If a singer wins more than 70 percent of the audience, the wall will rise and the singer steps out as a new star to bask in the applause of the live studio audience.

I AM ON THE WEST COAST. HOW DO I VOTE?
Any time the show airs on ABC, (wherever you may be), you can use the app to vote along. West Coast viewers should vote along during the West Coast broadcast because a contestant who is voted out during the East Coast broadcast could be saved by West Coast viewers. These contestants are in jeopardy and could use your vote more than ever!
DOES THE AUDIENCE VOTE REALLY COUNT? HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY COUNT?
Yes. It counts. We swear it counts. We swear on the life of the office dog. We have a terrifying number of computers and servers that (so long as they don't become self-aware) count the audience votes in real time and combine those votes with the experts' votes to determine whether or not a contestant continues in the competition.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I SHOW UP LATE AND ENTER THE APP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOW? I SWEAR, IT WASN'T MY FAULT - TRAFFIC WAS CRAZY.
If a vote is already in progress, you'll have to wait for the next performance. But then you'll be able to check in and vote for the next contestant - along with all of the people who made sure to leave half an hour early to get home on time.
