SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (KGO) -- A San Diego rapper accused of kidnapping a woman was released from the Marin County Jail Thursday night.
The district attorney's office said it wants more time to investigate.
Charles Mitchell, who goes by Mitchy Slick, is accused of human trafficking, kidnapping and participating in a criminal gang among other charges in Marin County.
Parker Richard, a neighbor, heard the early morning raid August 22 in the Sleeping Hollow neighborhood.
"There was a loud speaker blaring, just saying, 'Come out with your hands up, we have you surrounded,'" Richard said.
But Mitchy Slick wasn't inside.
In the following days, he remained active on social media even promoting his new song and album release.
Lieutenant Doug Pittman says Mitchy Slick turned himself into authorities Tuesday.
The rapper grew up in San Diego and is rumored to be a member of the Lincoln Park Bloods.
Officials will not release any information about the woman allegedly held against her will, or how long she was held, out of concern for her safety.
Officials are still investigating Mitchy Slick's ties to the Bay Area.
In court Thursday, the district attorney's office announced it needs more time to investigate.
Mitchy Slick will leave jail Thursday night a free man.
Neighbors who called police about activity at his home just want the chain of fancy cars and women to stop.
"We have kids here and we want to make sure we're all safe," a neighbor said.
The neighborhood plans to hold a meeting about the situation soon.
