Man makes emotional plea for thief to return wife's ashes

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A man passing through San Francisco is making an emotional plea. The widower was on his way to Oregon to scatter his wife's ashes when his car was stolen in the Richmond District. His wife's ashes are in the car.

The man's car is a 1997 blue Honda Civic with New Mexico plates. It was taken from a parking space between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at the corner of Cabrillo and 4th streets in the Inner Richmond.

He is hoping someone will find the contents and turn them over to police.
